Dogs In A Pile, Poured in Sterling
Hand-poured 925 sterling silver tribute pieces for the Dogs In A Pile crowd - the paw print done in crushed opal, and a stippled take on the skull every lot knows. Made in Denver.
A young band, an old tradition
Dogs In A Pile came up out of Asbury Park, New Jersey, and they're carrying the jam torch the way it's supposed to be carried: playing constantly, never repeating a night, and letting the lot grow up around them. Their crowd skews young but the rituals are the old ones - trade what you made, wear who you follow, find your people by what's hanging around their neck. The paw print is the mark this scene rallies around, and it deserves better than a screen-printed tee that dies in the wash. So I put it in solid silver.
The paw on the stealie
Dropping your band's mark into that skull is one of the oldest moves in lot art, and it's how I built these: a hand-sculpted skull pendant with the paw print sitting where the bolt usually goes. The circle field is stippled - thousands of tiny strikes that catch light differently every time you move. It comes two ways. The straight stipple stays bright silver front to back. The tarnish version gets the recessed field oxidized black by hand, so the paw and the skull jump out of the dark. Both are cast in solid 925 sterling at my bench in Denver, one at a time - the badges below pull from live inventory, so what you see is what's actually here.
The paw, packed with opal
The paw print pendant is the softer sibling: a round medallion with a notched border and the pads of the paw cut as channels for crushed opal. I flood the stone in by hand, cure it, grind it flush, and polish until the silver and the inlay read as one surface. Crushed opal never settles the same way twice, so every pour lands a little different - yours will flash its own colors under lot lights, stage lights, and Colorado sun.
Pick your own stones
If the mix in the photos isn't your mix, build one. The stone catalog has every crushed stone and opal color on my bench, photographed close up - pick a background, pick your opal, and send it through the custom order form. Tell me the show that made you a fan and I'll happily play dealer's choice.
The fine print, honestly
These are fan tribute pieces made by one person in Denver. I'm not affiliated with the band or their merchandising - every design here is an original sculpt inspired by the culture around the music, made for the people who carry it. Each piece is solid 925 sterling silver, never plated, never hollow. In-stock pieces ship in 3-5 business days; made-to-order work runs 2-3 weeks. Shipping is a flat $10 USPS Priority anywhere in the US. All sales are final, but if something arrives with a craftsmanship issue, tell me within 7 days and I'll make it right - details on the shipping and returns page. More of a Phish head or a Dead head? Those collections have their own pages, alongside the Pretty Lights logo pendants, the Magic Beans inlay ring and marching bears, and the Daily Bread toast pendants - and everything lives together on the homepage grid. Some of these are single pieces that never come back; the 1 of 1 guide explains what that means here, and the silver care guide covers the tarnished finishes.
