The home-team band

Most scenes I make jewelry for, I meet on the road. This one grew up in my backyard. The Magic Beans came out of the Colorado circuit playing whatever the night called for: funk one set, bluegrass the next, synths draped over both. The crowd that formed around them stuck. Every summer that crowd rolls down the canyon to Rancho del Rio for Beanstalk, the festival the band built on a bend of the Colorado River, and the rest of the year it fills Front Range rooms on a random Thursday. A lot of those same faces stop by my table. This page is for them.

A ring you build yourself

The Magic Beans Inlay Ring is a solid 925 sterling band with a channel cut for crushed stone, filled and finished by hand at my bench. You pick what goes in it. Go river-blue with lapis under crushed opal, run deep green malachite for the canyon walls, or tell me the colors of a set you still think about and let me match them. Every ring is poured and set one at a time, so no two ever come out the same. They're made to order - plan on 2 to 3 weeks while I cast, pour, and polish yours.

The bears, marching on

Bears have been marching across festival lots for fifty years. They stopped belonging to any one band a long time ago; now they belong to whoever walks the lot, and at a Beans show they fit right in. Mine are original sculpts in solid sterling, each filled with a different hand-poured inlay: straight malachite, black tourmaline under opal, lapis lazuli with crushed opal, a ruby and quartz mix, pink howlite, and a confetti pour that empties half the stone bench into one bear. The pink howlite and confetti bears are UV-reactive, so under blacklight they put on their own show. Most of these exist as exactly one finished piece - the badges in the grid below pull straight from my live inventory, so what you see is what's on the shelf.

Pick your own stones

If none of those mixes are your colors, build your own. The full stone catalog shows every bag on my bench - 23 background stones and 38 crushed opal colors, photographed close up. Pick a background, add opal on top, and bring the mix to the ring or to a custom piece through the order form. If you'd rather describe the light on the river when the late set started and let me choose, dealer's choice is honestly my favorite way to work.

Each piece is solid 925 sterling silver, never plated, never hollow. In-stock pieces ship in 3 to 5 business days; made-to-order work runs 2 to 3 weeks.
